Similar to Massi, Michelle comes from a family background in hairdressing, with her Dad training with the iconic Vidal Sassoon. From the age of 16, Michelle has thrived as a talented hair stylist in all aspects of the profession. From colouring to cutting, to a natural knack for different hair textures, Michelle now heads up the RMUK Training Academy. As well as this, Michelle and Massi direct the RMUK Art Team, where their main focuses are highlighting new trends, and transforming them in salon to wearable styles. Michelle is a driving force for this within the salon, as she ensures all the latests techniques and looks are communicated back to all stylists, so they never miss a beat.
From meeting Massi through her brother in her early twenties, Michelle joined the family business 14 years ago and has become a pioneering member of the team, developing junior hairdressers into graduate stylists. Michelle is also centric to planning photoshoots for the salon, as well as entering the team into worldwide competitions. Michelle is a great example of somebody who has worked her way up in the profession and has gone on to do great things in the industry, such as winning the 2015 Colour Trophy award with Massi. They collectivley took home the trophy for the North East and were also awarded British second place, beating over 3,000 entries.
When selecting apprentices for the RMUK Training Academy, Michelle says that a good attitude and natural enthusiasm is exactly what she looks for. Although a fashion-forward salon, she believes that style and trends can be taught, but a willingness to learn and a passion for the industry is essential to a career with RMUK. Alongside teaching theory and skill, Michelle also teaches junior hairdressers the importance of excellent customer service and comfortable luxury. Both Michelle and Massi want their clients to see RMUK as a home away from home where they can feel relaxed when they arrive, and confident when they leave. Although high-end elements such as Prosecco and complimentary head & shoulder massages come as standard with every appointment, they never want to be viewed as an inaccessible salon. Michelle has a vibrant energy about her which is contagious, something which both her clients and apprentices experience whilst working with her.
When Michelle isn't keeping her many clients happy and paving the way for a new generation of Hairdressers, she enjoys long walks in the countryside with Massi and their daughter Olivia as well as far flung exotic travel. One of her fondest memories being swimming with Whale Sharks & Manta-rays whilst on vacation with Massi.
