Laura Moura – Founder & Aestetics Director

From training and working as a therapist in Paris to working across Milan, Laura is the driving force behind the beauty side of the salon, with over 40 years experience in the industry. What sets Laura apart from other beauty business owners, is her immaculate attention to detail and background in luxury fashion. From working with fashion houses in Milan, to accommodating clients across Paris, Laura understands an affluent audience, which is highlighted in the luxurious touches around the salon. This also paved the way for how RMUK is today, with at-seat beauty being available for its hairdressing clients since 1995. From manicures to pedicures, it all become part of the RMUK experience. This is still a key part of the salon's offering today, with skillful therapists who work in tandem with hairstylists to provide a seamless experience.

As Laura will tell you, Hair & Beauty as a package is nothing new, as Laura has provided beauty treatments to hair treatment guests in Milan and Paris since the 70s. It would have been rare for a guest in Milan to not ask for this kind of service, so it became second nature when opening their doors in Leeds. Still seen as a novelty in the UK, RMUK is one of the only salons in the North of England to offer a day-spa like experience for all its guests.

Alongside Guinot of Paris Facials for treatment and skin rejuvenation and Nail care, Laura is also an expert in the field of hair removal and eyebrow shaping, being one of the first therapists in the UK to offer specialist waxing and advanced eyebrow services. Laura has gone on to train, support and guide many RMUK therapists, keeping her involvement in the Beauty Department. She explains that Hair & Beauty work is like that of a Doctor in so much as they help people feel better, which is especially important in recent times.

Now that the reigns have been handed to her son, Massi & his wife Michelle, Laura enjoys cooking and keeping a welcoming and stylish home. From interior design to landscaping, Laura has now channeled her creativity and attention to detail to the Moura family residence. Other free time is spent travelling and spending time with relatives, which is a key part of the Moura family dynamic.
